AUSTRIAN GYMNASIUM
Prague 12 - Modřany
LOXIA provided comprehensive architectural and general designer services from the stage of the planning and building permit through to the author’s supervision, including documentation for tender and execution documentation. The design concept architect was Andreas Karl Bohrn from Vienna. The school premises begins with an entrance area on its southern side, consisting of the main entrance to the school grounds and to the side, a parking lot, which serves primarily school staff. From the main entrance you continue to the multi-storey school building, a monoblock, which provides everything for quality education. Behind the school building there is a gymnasium building, which is partially recessed in the terrain and is connected to the school sports field. In the northern part of the school premises there is a multi-purpose court for ball sports and athletic lanes for track-and-field sports, including a landing area. The dimensions of the sports grounds were used for the design, which provided optimal use of the school lot . A network of walking paths which connect all of the school’s functions are used throughout the premises. Along the existing Ceskoslovenskeho exilu Street, a green earth wall was designed as a local barrier which effectively protects the school grounds against the emissions and noises of the adjacent road.
